WINTER SOLSTICE

WINTER SOLSTICE

It is the Astrological New Year!!!!!!!

This is the time of year when the darkness and the shadow are giving over to the light. As we celebrate the longest night of the year, each one after this will be shorter and shorter, meaning longer and longer days.

It is a great time to look past of the past six months, to the summer solstice. This was the longest day of the year and each day since then has been shorter. When there are shorter days and longer night the darkness is tipping the scale in its favor, the shadow can be more apparent. This is a good time to look at the past six months critically. Do not be afraid to dig into the shadow parts as well, for these are what make us a full human. We are made up of light and dark, just as the year is made up of both as well. It is not something we need to be in fear of.

Where in the past six months can we see our shadow lurking? Where have we been ashamed or felt guilt for our actions? Once we have a good idea and vision of our shadow it is time to look towards what we are grateful for. As we dip into the past to seek our gratitude we will be turned towards our future, where the light is becoming more and more abundant. This will prepare us for the light tipping the scales in the next six months.
